In 1998, FIRECRYSTAL PRINS YMIR, a blue silver tabby and white NFC, took his place amongst the Birmans of Shenji Cattery, on my 2-acre property in Cranbourne, 50 km from Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.    Ymie (pronounced ‘Immie’) was the first NFC to be registered in Victoria and the first entire stud.    His sire and dam were imported from the UK and he was born in Western Australia.    Ymie achieved the highest status of GOLD CHAMPION, being shown at GCCFV, CAV and FCC Open Shows, and sired a few litters before retiring to a lovely lady in Shepparton, in 2004.    His son, Double GD CH BOREALIS INDIANA, also a blue silver tabby and white, has stayed with us to carry on his lines.

Gold Ch Firecrystal Prins Ymir was my first ever NFC, and a very much loved pet in my home before he became a stud.   He sired several lovely kittens, and then went to a friend who also breeds NFCs, to have more room to live in and greater freedom.
He lived a happy 3 years before he sadly succumbed to a snake bite in January 2007.   His lines live on in Borealis Indiana, Borealis Tribble and Borealis Giselle, as well as several kittens who were sold to other breeders and are still healthy and happy. .
Ymie will be sadly missed by all at Borealis cats, and thanks to Rose for giving him a pleasant retirement.
