At first called Illya from the I Litter, Captain Jack was such an affectionate kitten that I could not bear to part with him and called him after the 'Torchwood' TV series leading character, Captain Jack Harkness. Full of mischief, fun, curiosity and purrs, Jack dashes around my house, catching imaginary prey and finding closed doors where he always needs to be on the other side! He is now so large that he can almost open the door himself and is easily the length of my ironing board from tip to tail. At only 12 months, he was 7 kg and continues to gain size, weight and coat - and his collection of soft toys, purloined from my collection, also continues to grow! When I lost Gizmo a little after Jack was born, I knew exactly who would be taking his place! Jack is also winning prizes at cat shows where he is much admired.
